  • Day 2: Capitol Hill Day (С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ Members Only) – Meet with your members of Congress and their staff to advocate for policy issues impacting the health information profession.Ìý

The hotel is two blocks from the National Mall, and one mile from the Capitol buildings, making transport to congressional meetings easy.

The С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ Advocacy Summit takes place March 16–17, 2026, in Washington, DC.

  • Full Two-Day Event (С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ Members Only): $199
    Includes both the Policy Institute (Day 1) and Capitol Hill Day (Day 2).

  • Day 1 Policy Institute Only (Members and Non-Members): $199
    Space is limited. Registration will close when capacity is met. This may occur earlier than the posted registration close date.

  • Full Two-Day Event: : Register by February 17, 2026
  • Day 1 Only: Register by March 9, 2026

Capitol Hill Day is open to С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ members who register for the full two-day event by February 17, 2026.

Because of the time necessary to schedule meetings with congressional offices, С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ members registering after February 17, 2026, will only be eligible to attend the Day 1 Policy Institute.

Meetings may be scheduled at any time from 9 a.m.– 3 p.m. on March 17, 2026. Please ensure that your travel plans allow you to attend Capitol Hill meetings that end as late as 3 p.m.

Substitutions (that is, assigning a paid registration to another individual) must be requested no later than February 17, 2026. This provides С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ staff time to secure congressional appointments for the substitute attendee.

To submit a request for substitution, requests must be submitted to advocacy@ahima.org. Please include that the request is for the 2026 Advocacy Summit, as well as the following information of the registrant and substitute registrant: first and last name, home address, cell phone number, email address, job title, employer, and order reference number. Notification of approval will be made within seven days of receipt of the request.

If you need to cancel, С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ offers full refunds minus a $50 processing fee through February 17, 2026. Refunds are processed within 30 days.

If you are planning to attend Capitol Hill Day, you must register for the full Advocacy Summit and attend the Policy Institute on Day 1. Attending the Policy Institute will ensure that members have the appropriate context and background and will be aligned with С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ national legislative efforts and messaging on Capitol Hill. It will also help reduce confusion in setting up appointments with congressional staff and members of Congress.

Yes, most meetings will take place in person on Capitol Hill. If any of your meetings are virtual, С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ will help you participate remotely.

For those who are flying, Ronald Reagan Washington Airport (DCA) is the closest to downtown, and a short 15-minute (3.6 mile) ride to the hotel.

For those flying into Dulles, transportation into the city is an hour by car, or slightly more than an hour on the Silver Metro Line.

The hotel is close to downtown, the National Mall, and the Capitol, so it’s easy to get around using the Metro, taxis, or rideshares.
